Since the Tumblr Apocalypse hit us, a lot of Simblrs I followed and loved have completely left Tumblr, and now my dash is dead :(

I haven’t been active much these days due to a combination of the holidays, tumblr bullshit, and playing WoW, but I’m not going anywhere.
I’m still here and probably always will be. I’m not really super active but I post every now and again.

Livejournal: This is my preferred site. Many entries were broken by Photobucket but I will always consider it my main hub.
Dreamwidth: My old DW account was also full of ancient and broken entries, so I created a new account over there. It only has a picture so far.
Discord: I am Simgaroop#8426 over there. I became quite active at Discord recently, so you are more likely to find me there.
Twitter: I rarely use twitter, but I am also @simgaroop over there. I use that platform to automatically tweet some stuff, but barely anything else.
Instagram: I opened it today in case it becomes the new platform for sims picture sharing. I am also simgaroop over there.
As for forums, I still have an account on ModTheSims and Garden of Shadows.
After 10 years using my own textures and colors, I recently changed the look of my Sims and adopted Remisim’s textures and colors.
More specifically, I am now using her V2 texture and black color and her V3 brown, blond and red, following trotylka’s system <3
This has allowed me to keep my hair folder manageable.
I am currently re-texturing and/or recoloring a couple meshes that I want in this texture/color combo and I also took a request from @mikexx2 at Discord to retexture these three new meshes, mainly because if there’s a time to make and share CC for me, it is during the Holidays.
I am getting back into this project after a brief hiatus due to work, re-building my DL folder (went from 14 to 4 GB) and being distracted by Get Famous.
Featuring terrible five minute recolors for Gunther’s top and hair, as well as Cornelia’s hair.
I think I will re-do this picture for the complete photoset with a darker background. I am still figuring out the past and future pictures for this family. I guess for the future I will go with a TS1 Goth portrait and as for the past… perhaps Agnes’ wedding?

Plus just a few hair defaults (mostly hats and two ugly male hairs from M&G) because I actually like most of the Maxis hairs. However, one of these days I will recolor all of the Maxis blondes to Remi’s V3 Blonde (leaving everything else intact) and turn those into my defaults.

I will resume the portraits during this long weekend. I spent the last couple of weeks down-sizing my DL folder because I am tired of the pink flashing and constant crashing I had with almost 14GB of content (mostly clothing and conversions). I now have 4 GB, which I hope will result in a better playing experience and more progress with the Big Portrait Project.
This is a short “Day of the Dead” story I posted 9 years ago at Livejournal.
I recovered the original pictures, so I am hosting it for the first time at Tumblr. I fixed the grammar a bit, but otherwise the content is identical. I am posting it in two parts due to the platform’s limitations.
I remember being so happy when I managed to replicate a Day of The Dead altar using what little CC was available in 2008. Who knew there would be official Day of the Dead content years later?
I think that if there was a Sims 2 hood that celebrated this tradition, it would be Strangetown.

I will be out of town for Halloween / Day of the Death, hence I’m posting this now.
